| DESCRIPTION:
This
tutorials shows how easy you can use masks and a free 3rd party
filters to make outstanding pictures with PI.
|
In case you need to freshen up your memory on how to save a mask
into the EP - you can take a look at one of my other
tutorials, where I explain a little bit more about how to use a
mask in PI. You'll find the tut here.
|
 |
Follow
the first part of the tutorial until you have applied the Eye
Candy filter, or another filter with a weave filter.
Merge All. |
|
 |
Open
your Easy Palette, and find the mask with the name dmsk0148.jpg. Double-click the mask (3).
Set the background color (red arrow) to the color you want the
mask to be. (Here I used white.) Chose the Transform Tool (1),
click the Selection button (2) and resize the mask to fit your
picture.
Chose the Crop Tool and crop your mask.
|
|
 |
That's
the result, by using a second mask instead of a filter.
|
|
|
|
|
You
can also try to use the free filter with the name Filter
Attack. Also here ... follow the first part of the tutorial
until you have applied the Eye Candy filter, or another filter
with a weave filter. Merge All.
Set the background color in PI to the color you want your
background to be.
Go to Effect/Filter Attack, and chose a filter you like. There
are approx. 50 different filters which can be found by
clicking the Filter button on the bottom.
With the sliders to the right you are changing the settings of
the filters. Filter Attack is a little bit special, as you
can't set the settings after numbers ... you just have to try
and find a nice effect for yourself.
For this picture I used the filter with the name Border:
Abreißrand. |
|
|
|
|
And
that's how the picture looks like with the filter applied! |
|
| That's it! A different way to
use your masks - you change them before you are applying them.
(First part) And with the help of a second mask or a free 3rd
party filter you can achieve beautiful pictures too.
HAVE FUN!!!
