DESCRIPTION: Easy way to enhance your photos with a click or two!

Remember to save often!

Open the photo you want to enhance (the one I chose is also one I found on pics.am).
To show you the difference one click can make, I duplicated (Ctrl+D) the photo. The one on the top shall remain my original, and I shall work on the one below.
This photo is easy to enhance.
Go to Format/Auto-process/Level (white arrow), and you're done.

As you can see, the photo below looks much better as the original.
Sometimes it's nice with a color-cast on your photos but not every time. And then it's good to know how you can make your precious photos perfect.

Sometimes the Auto-process doesn't work as you would like it to. In that case, try using  Format/Level or Format/Tone Map.
For this example I shall use the Format/Level Command.

On the screenshot you can see the picture enhanced with Auto-process/level, but I didn't like the color-cast PI created. I felt there was too much green in the picture.

Here I use the same photo, but instead of the Auto-process, I chose Format/Level.
First of all, I try to Zoom In (red arrow) on an area, which should have real white pixels. In this case I decided to use the sky, all to the right. (You can see a little bit of the mountain and the sky inside the two windows.)
Then I chose the eyedropper for the white pixels (1) and then I picked one pixel inside the left window. (You can see the the eyedropper sign on the screenshot.)
If you don't like the result, hit the Reset button and try again with another pixel in the left Level window.
If you're satisfied with the resulting picture, click OK.

Even if the pictures are on the small side, you can see clearly the difference.
1= Original
2= Auto-process/Level
3= Level/white eyedropper

That's it! You can do the same with the two other eyedroppers (for black and for grey pixels), all depending on your picture. It's not always possible to enhance photos that way, but you can always use the sliders inside the Level or Tone Map window. Try this tutorial on bigger pictures and you will be amazed how much change one little click can make. HAVE FUN!!!
