DESCRIPTION: Learn how to make eye-popping pictures for your website. This tutorial has 2 parts ... in the first part I explain to you how you can make fancy objects like this for your website, and in the 2.part I show you how you can save them, so they show off right on your site!

Remember to save often!

Before you open your PhotoImpact, find the font you've downloaded and open it up. Now you can open your PI. By that way you don't have to install all the different fonts into your usual font folder.

Open a new image (white arrow, below):

Click the User-defined box (red arrow) and set both the Width and the Height to 400 pixels. Actually we won't need that much space, but it really doesn't matter.
Set the Custom color to black (1).

Select the Text Tool (red arrow), find the font you will use (in our case the one with the name MirrorImage) in the dropdown menu (1), and set the Size to 180 (2). Since we have a black canvas, set the color to white (3) and click on your image (4).
Type the letter L (small letter) and you will get the same picture as the one to the left.
To change the Mode of your font, you go to Mode (5) and find the mode you want to use. Here we shall let it be with the 2D Object mode.
Click the Pick Tool (6) ... that will activate your font/object.

I moved my font/object a little bit down with the Pick Tool, so I could see the finished effect better.
Open the Easy Palette (EP) and chose the Galleries (red arrow). Find Type Gallery (1)/Fire(2). Right click on the thumbnail with the name Fire 5 (3)/Modify Properties and Apply (4).
That should bring up the window you can see below.

In this window you can change the Strength (red arrow) of the fire effect, but you can also change the Inside color, Middle color or Outside color (1).
Use the Preview button (2) and check the look of the effect, or use the OK button (3), if you like the standard adjustments from PI.

I used the standards, and that's what we get by doing so!

That's it! Now that we've made the object we want to use ready, I shall show you in the 2.part how you can save this object, so it will look nice on your website. HAVE FUN!!!
