| DESCRIPTION:
In Part 2 of this tutorial, you have
more control over the background you are replacing. Since we have to
use a larger part of the sky for this tutorial, you should download
the picture for the sky with the name tut011_photo02_2. The landscape is
the same as in Part 1.
|
 |
This step is
the same as before:
Open the picture
tut011_photo and make a copy (Ctrl+D). Close the original, we
shall work on the copy.
We start by using the Selection Tool/Magic Wand (red arrow). If you
prefer using other selection methods, like the Lasso or Color Range, go
for it!
Set the Mode to + (1) and the Similarity to 30 (2). The Similarity can
vary, depending on the photo you use. Click once anywhere in the sky,
making a nice, clean selection. |
|
 |
Open the
picture tut011_sky_2 and make a copy of the picture (Ctrl+C).
Go to Edit/Paste and chose Into Selection (red arrow).
|
|
 |
Now
you can
paste the picture into the selection as you want, but don't click on the
picture before you've found the right position for it. As you move your
cursor ... left, right, up or down ... the picture is following your
movements (red arrow).
When you are satisfied with the position,
click on the picture (in our case, the sky). If you don't like the
result, click Edit/Undo Before and try again.
|
|
|
 |
In the
screenshot on the left, I've placed both pictures beside each other. In
Part 1 of this tut we made No. 1, and in Part 2 we made No. 2. You can
easily see the difference, that's why we used a bigger picture to
illustrate this point. |
|
| That's it! That's
it! As you can see, both pictures have a new sky but look
different. Of course, if you prefer the method shown in Part 2,
you should still change the color of the sea (as shown in Part 1) to get
a more natural picture. HAVE FUN!!!
