DESCRIPTION:
Learn how to use PI 8's
new effect, the Texture filter, to achieve a 3-D look for your photo.
If you are using a different photo, you will have to experiment with
the settings to achieve this effect.
|
 |
Open the picture
tut8_photo and make a copy (Ctrl+D). Close the original and work on
the copy.
Go to Effect/Artistic/Colored Pen and set the Level to 50 (1). If
you click on the preview button (2) you can see the effect on your
picture and easily change the same if you didn't like the result. |
|
 |
On the
screenshot to the left you can see the window you get, by using the
preview option.
Click the OK button if you like the result. I often use the Continue
button to see different settings, before I decide which one I want to
use.
After you've chosen the settings you like make a copy of the picture
(Ctrl+D).
|
|
 |
Just work on
the one which is activated (it really doesn't matter which one for the
moment).
Go to Effect/Material Effect/Texture Filter/Smooth Leather (1)
and use these settings:
20/6/10/100/30
Color (2): 137/137/137
Direction: 0
Click OK/Apply Current Frame Effect to Image.
|
|
|
 |
This is how
your next window should appear. Activate the picture with the Texture
Filter Effect (1) and copy it (Ctrl+C).
Then activate the other picture (2) and paste the copy you just made on the top of
it (Ctrl+V). |
|
|
 |
Now you have
two pictures on top of each other.
Right Click/Properties and set the Merge Mode to Multiply (red
arrow).
Merge All and your picture is finished.
If you like, you can change the Brightness or the Contrast of your
picture by using the Quick Command Panel:
