DESCRIPTION:
Turn a picture or photo into a snow landscape with a few
special effects.
|
 |
Open the picture
tut6_photo and make a copy (Ctrl + D). Close the original and work on
the copy.
Go to Effect/Artistic/Colored Pen, set the Level to 60. Click
OK.
Use the Quick Command Panel,

and click 5x the minus button for the Brightness. (That's depending
on the picture you use!) |
|
 |
As you can see
the picture looks a little bit dark now, but with few special effects
you can set off the "interesting" parts of the photo.
Use the Selection Tool/Lasso, and make a selection (as you can see in
the screenshot to the left).
Right Click/Soften: 20 pixels.
|
|
 |
Now comes the
really important part ... the one which set off parts of your picture.
Go to Photo/Enhance/Diffuse Glow and use these settings:
Threshold: 16
Degree of glow: 6
Graininess: 2
Glow color: white (255/255/255)
Click OK and deactivate the selection.
Try different settings to find one that appeals to you.
|
|
|
 |
Now
to make it snow. Go to Effect/Creative/Particle Effect/Snow
(1) and use these settings under Basic (red arrow):
Density: 2500
Size: 19
Variance: 70
Color: white (255/255/255)
Body: 10
Opacity: 70.
Click OK/Apply Current Frame Effect to Image (white arrow) and
Merge All.
For this picture, I didn't change any of the settings from the Advanced
tab.
Experiment with the settings ... you can achieve a lot of nice
effects. (You even can animate the snow if you want too!) |
|
And
that's how my finished picture looks in the original size :))
|
|

|
|
That's it! Easy to make and now you can
make use all kind of photos which aren't exactly masterpieces.
HAVE FUN!!!
