Open the picture
and make a selection with the Selection Tool/Square. I've fixed the
size for this tut with 300x300 pixels.
Right Click/Convert to Object and drag your new object into your working
space. |
|
 |
Go to Effect/All/Creative Warp, and use the Pattern template:5.
Click the OK button.
|
|
 |
Go to
Effect/I.C.NET Software/Filters Unlimited 2.0 and find Andrew's Filter
Collection 57/Circles In The Sands Of Time. For this tutorial I used
this settings:
33/24/192/228/43/250/230/218
Click the Apply button.
If you don't have Filters Unlimited 2.0
and have the Andrew's Filter Collections installed you can find them
directly under Effect/Andrew's Filter Collection.
Use the same settings as I did.

 |
Go to Effect/Simple/Quick Tile and click the Apply button.
Right Click/Properties and set the Transparency to 80 %.
(This is just a suggestion ... try different settings to find the one
which fits your needs best.) |
|
 |
Now go to File/Preview in Browser/As Tiled Background. The result should look like
the one to the left. (Of course only if you used the same photo and the
same settings as I
did!) |
|
| That's it! This technique isn't difficult
at all and easy to achieve with PhotoImpact and third-party filters. If
you want to see other tiles I have made using Filter Factory
filters, take a look at the 2.part of this tutorial for inspiration. HAVE FUN!!!
