To make it more easy to select a border, right click/All,
right click/Border and set the Pixels of the border for the
Border width, Direction: Inward, Shape: Box.
You can always use the Magic Wand Tool, but this way it's more
easy if you use similar colors for the background and the
border. (On the assumption that all sides have been expanded
equally!)

 |
Open
the picture you want to use. Go
to Adjust/Expand Canvas/Expand sides equally 5 pixels,
Expand: White,
and select the border.
Go to Edit/Trace Edges/Selection
Marquee and accept the default settings. Change the Mode (1)
from Horizontal Deform to 3D Round. Open your EP and find a
preset you want to use. I used one from the EP/Text-Path
Effects/ Material: M15 (2). But I unchecked the Bump and Shadow in the Material window (3). I
also changed the Lights (red
arrow) from 1 to 2 (white hand) - Direct/Ambient: 30. Then I used the Add button
(white arrow) and saved the "new" preset into My
Gallery in the Add to Easy Palette window (4).
Use your preset now on the border and deselect. |
We are going to use this method - Edit/Trace Edges/Selection
Marquee; Horizontal Deform to 3D Round + preset - several more
times, so next time I will only ask you to use the
preset-method (no matter how many pixels we expanded!).
