DESCRIPTION:
Make a beautiful blend with PI.
Tutorial:
Copyright © Inge Klement
If you want to redo this tutorial, but don't want to print so many
pictures,
you can find a copy without screenshots here!
PI
Version:
12 (but you can use earlier, and newer versions too)
Level:
Intermediate
Featured tools:
Transform Tool, Pick Tool, Eraser
Additional filters:
dsb
flux
Additional files:
4 tubes, 1 mask and 1 gold fill.
You'll get the material in the zip-file.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Supplies: All tubes and the gold fill are from the internet.
The mask is from Ylvas
Design (I've changed the mask a little bit to fit the need of
this tutorial -
and I've renamed the changed mask, so there wouldn't be "name
crash" with Ylvas original mask.).
You are allowed to download the material here and use it for your
private use,
but you are not allowed to change the name of the tubes/mask/or
gold fill,
delete the watermark, neither offer them for sale or download.
The copyright © belongs ALWAYS to the original artist/designer!
No copyright infringement is intended.

Before we
start, you should open the mask, and store it into your Easy
Palette. In case you need to freshen up your memory on how to save
a mask into the EP - you can take a look at one of my other
tutorials, where I explain a little bit more about how to use a
mask in PI. You'll find the tutorial here.
Important - in my tutorials my masks fit the chosen
background/object ... you achieve this by right clicking any mask
inside the original category Mask Library in your Easy Palette.
Now you choose the option Fit Mask.
Very important:
Do NOT merge the pictures
before I tell you
to do so!

This
is a "Misted" tube, and you'll see that part of the tube
are outside of our mask frame ... so we have to use the eraser to
clean these parts.
Choose the eraser (white hand), Square (red arrow), Size: 50
(white arrow), Transparency: 0 and Soft edge: 0.
Now clean around the bottom, the right side and the top of the
tube. You can see on the screenshot how I did it ... 1 = cleaned
part
2 = part covered with the "Misted" tube.
We want to have the background - color 10/27/35 - nicely cleaned. When you re satisfied with the result,
you can deselect the tube (Enter).

Open
the tube ... Ballerina ..., copy the
tube, and paste the copy of the tube on
our main picture.
Right click the tube on the main picture/Properties/ Position &
Size/Size, and resize the tube.
Make sure the box "Keep aspect ratio" is ticked, change the Width to
325, and the Position of the tube to:
Left: 114 / Top: 271.
Keep the tube activated, choose the Pick Tool (white hand) change
the Transparency to 55 (red arrow) and the Soft edge to 3 (white
arrow).
Keep the tube activated.
|
|
|
|
Also
here parts of the "Misted" tube are outside our mask
frame, so choose the Eraser one more time, use the same settings
as before (white hand), and erase now the parts outside the inner
border of the mask. (See screenshot ... between the red and the
white arrow.)
When you re satisfied with the result, you can Merge All.

arrow), Shape: Box and Anti-aliasing.
Click OK, keep the 30 pixels border selected, right click/Border
and change the Border width to 2.
Keep the border selected.
