Material

IMPORTANT NOTE:

One tube is made by by Suzy Sgai and the other one is from the internet ...
(a PSP-layer). The two masks are original PSP-selections,
but in this case we will use them as masks for our picture.
You are allowed to download them here and use them for your private use,
but you are not allowed to change the name of the tubes,
delete the watermarks, neither offer them for sale or download.
The copyright © belongs ALWAYS to the original artist/designer!

Remember to save often!

Before we start, you should open the masks, and store them into your Easy Palette. In case you need to freshen up your memory on how to save a mask into the EP - you can take a look at one of my other tutorials, where I explain a little bit more about how to use a mask in PI. You'll find the tutorial here.
Important - in my tutorials my masks fit the chosen background/object ... you achieve this by right clicking any mask inside the original category Mask Library in your Easy Palette. Now you choose the option Fit Mask.

Very important:
Do NOT merge the picture before I tell you to do so!

Open a New Image, 800x600 Pixels, color: Black.

Open the tube - absract art overlay -, copy (Ctrl+C) the tube (1), activate our main picture (2), and paste (Ctrl+V) the copy of the tube on it.
Close the downloaded tube ... the tube on the main picture should still be activated.
Right click the tube on our main picture/Properties/ Position & Size (3)/Size and resize the tube.
Untick the box "Keep aspect ratio" (red arrow), and change the Width to 923 and the Height to 761 (white arrows).

Now we can change the position of the tube too.
Left: -45 / Top: -54 (white hands).
Click OK and deselect the tube (Enter).

Open your Easy Palette/Libraries (white hand) and double-click the mask GD Sel 13 (1), which you've downloaded, unzipped and stored into the EP.
On the screenshot you can see that the mask applied on
the image (2).

Go to Edit/Fill/Color and choose the Color: 66/76/115.
Deselect the mask (spacebar).

Open your Easy Palette/Libraries (white hand) and double-click the mask Susan S 24 (1), which you've downloaded, unzipped and stored into the EP.
On the screenshot you can see that the mask applied on
the image (2).

Go to Edit/Fill/Color (1) and choose a lighter shade (white hand) of the color we used before. I used:
Red: 122 / Green: 132 / Blue: 177 (red arrows).
Click OK and deselect the mask (spacebar).

Choose the Standard Selection Tool (white arrow), click the button "Select on object" (white hand) and draw a rectangle on the darkest part of the image, like the one you can see on the screenshot (red arrows).
Keep the selection activated.

' Right click/All, right click/Border, and use these settings:
Border width: 2 Pixels (white hand), Direction: Inward (red arrow), Shape: Box and Anti-aliasing.
Click OK and keep the border selected.

Go to Edit/Fill/Image (red arrow)/File and find (white hand) the downloaded and unzip goldfill with the name  a_jb-goldstrip.jpg.
Click OK and deselect the border (spacebar).

Open the tube - SS_1955 -, copy (Ctrl+C) the tube (1), activate our main picture (2), and paste (Ctrl+V) the copy of the tube on it.
Close the downloaded tube ... the tube on the main picture should still be activated.

Right click the tube, choose Properties/Position & Size (3) /Size and resize the tube.
Make sure the box "Keep aspect ratio" is ticked (red arrow), and change the Width to 515.

Now we can change the position of the tube:
Left: 179 / Top: 272 (white arrows).
Click OK and keep the tube selected.

Attention: The position can differ a little bit, all depending on your selection of the dark part. Just make the tube fitting nicely on the right side and the bottom line of your selection.

Effect/Xero/Soft Mood and use these settings:
Haziness: 50
Glow - Red: 50
+ Lock sliders (red arrow)
Brightness: -6
Contrast: 3.
Click OK and deselect the tube (Enter).

Go to Photo/Photo Frame choose Photo Frame 2D (1) and the 3. thumbnail (3).
Change the Width to 20 (2), One color: Black (white arrow). Tick the Shadow box and under Options (4) change the shadow settings like I did:
Color: 122/132/177 (white hand), 5. alternative (red arrow) + 50/102/5.
Click OK, and tick now the Canvas box/Options (5) and change the color to Black and the setting to 20 for all four sides.
Finally you can click OK on the Photo Frame window.
Merge All.

Right click/All, right click/Border, and use these settings:
Border width: 2 Pixels, Direction: Inward, Shape: Box and Anti-aliasing.
Click OK and keep the border selected.
Go to Edit/Fill/ Color and fill the border with the color: 122/132/177.
